Delivery partnership structures

Formal relationships matched to the work being delivered.

African Resolve uses suppliers, specialists and operating partners where they add required products, credentials, expertise, capacity or market access.

Available structures

Partnership supports delivery; it does not replace accountability.

The correct structure depends on the scope, duration, commercial model, required credentials and allocation of risk.

Supply

Supplier or manufacturer

A qualified provider supplies products, equipment or materials against defined specifications, pricing, lead times, warranty and delivery terms.

Specialist

Professional or technical partner

A specialist provides a defined technical or professional scope under agreed standards, outputs, rates, evidence and responsibility.

Delivery

Subcontractor or operating partner

An organisation accepts a defined workstream, mobilisation plan, delivery obligation and reporting requirement within the wider project.

Combined bid

Consortium or joint venture

Parties combine formally allocated capability and risk where the requirement demands broader capacity, credentials or a shared contracting structure.

Ongoing support

Strategic operating relationship

African Resolve or another party provides continuing systems, operations, commercial or organisational support under a defined agreement.

Long term

Portfolio participation

An ownership relationship may be considered where the parties intend to contribute material long-term value beyond a single project.

Minimum commercial definition

The relationship is documented before it is represented publicly or used in delivery.

Informal introductions and general statements of intent are not treated as available project capability.

Scope

What each party will provide, the required outputs and what is excluded.

Authority

Who may make decisions, communicate commitments and approve changes.

Commercial terms

Pricing, payment, costs, margin, tax, risk and treatment of additional work.

Evidence

Credentials, project history, product information, quality records and delivery proof.

Representation standard

Credentials remain attributable to the party that holds them.

African Resolve may coordinate or contract with other parties, but does not present their qualifications, registrations, experience or ownership status as its own.

  • The legal and commercial role of each party is stated accurately.
  • Any reliance on partner capacity is supported by a written commitment.
  • Joint-venture and consortium arrangements define governance and liability.
  • Conflicts, related interests and exclusivity conditions are disclosed.
  • Public statements are updated if the relationship ends or changes.
When equity is relevant

Ownership is considered only for a genuine long-term operating relationship.

Most supply, specialist and project requirements do not require African Resolve to acquire an interest in another business. Equity becomes relevant only where both sides will continue contributing material value, risk and responsibility.

Short-term requirementUse a service, supply or subcontracting agreement.
Defined projectUse a project partnership, consortium or joint venture where justified.
Continuing supportUse a managed operating or strategic services agreement.
Long-term shared enterpriseConsider ownership only after diligence and formal approval.
