1. Scope

This policy applies to cookies and similar browser-storage technologies used on the public website, secure login pages, administrative areas and partner or client portal pages operated by African Resolve Holdings (Pty) Ltd. It should be read with the Privacy Notice, which explains the wider processing of personal and business information.

A cookie is a small text record stored by a browser. First-party cookies are created for the domain being visited. Third-party services may also receive information when their scripts or resources load from the website.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies protect forms, preserve requested application state and maintain authorised sign-in sessions. Blocking them may prevent login, secure portal access or protected form submissions from working correctly.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies remember a limited choice made in the browser. The current public site uses one such cookie to remember that the analytics notice has been dismissed.

Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies assign pseudonymous browser and session identifiers so aggregate website use can be measured over time. They do not provide African Resolve Holdings with a visitor's name, email address or contact-form message.

4. Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is used to understand how the public website is found and used. The Google tag loads only when a measurement ID is configured for the website. The current implementation sends a page-view event when a public page loads.

Google advertising signals and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled in the website configuration. African Resolve Holdings does not use the public-site tag for remarketing, personalised advertising or the sale of visitor information.

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google states that Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses, although an IP address is processed transiently to provide and secure the service and to derive broad location information.

5. Information measured

Depending on browser settings and Google Analytics configuration, measurement information may include:

the page URL, page title and time of access;
the referring website, search engine or campaign information contained in a link;
browser, operating system, device category and screen information;
broad geographic information derived from the network connection;
pseudonymous client and session identifiers;
page views, engagement time, scrolling and outbound-link interactions where enhanced measurement is enabled; and
technical events required to identify errors, performance issues or abnormal traffic.

African Resolve Holdings does not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, contact-message content, passwords, uploaded documents, tender documents or supplier records to Google Analytics.

6. Purposes and safeguards

Cookie and analytics information is used to:

secure forms, sign-in and protected application functions;
maintain authorised access to administrative and portal areas;
measure traffic volumes and identify the pages visitors use;
understand how visitors reach the website;
improve navigation, content, accessibility and technical performance;
detect abnormal use, automated abuse and security risks; and
evaluate the effectiveness of public information and business communications.

Essential cookies are limited to functions required to deliver and protect the website. Analytics information is reviewed at an aggregate or pseudonymous level and is not used by African Resolve Holdings to make automated decisions about a visitor, determine tender eligibility, assess a supplier, or create an advertising profile.

7. Browser and visitor controls

Most browsers allow cookies to be inspected, blocked, restricted to particular websites or deleted. Private-browsing modes and compatible privacy extensions may also limit storage and analytics scripts. Blocking all cookies can prevent authentication, form protection and secure portal functions from operating correctly.

Clearing browser data removes the notice-acknowledgement cookie and may cause the analytics notice to appear again. The website does not currently provide a separate site-level switch that disables Google Analytics.

8. Third-party processing and international transfers

Google processes Analytics measurement information as a technology service provider under its contractual terms, privacy practices and security controls. Processing may occur through infrastructure located outside South Africa. The Privacy Notice explains African Resolve Holdings' approach to operators, service providers and cross-border processing.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the website introduces, removes or materially changes a cookie, analytics service or browser-storage function. The effective date at the top of the page identifies the current version.
